We address the cause.
Our goal is to figure out the cause of your symptoms, treat them with the most effective strategies, and prevent them from recurring. We look outside the box to find the things others may have missed. Yes, physical therapy is a science, but we believe it is an art as well, and we do not believe in cookie cutter programs. You are the key piece of the rehabilitation puzzle, so we work with you to set the goals, build the plan, and find the tools you can use to help yourself.
The movement specialists.
Physical therapists combine an in-depth knowledge of how the body works with hands-on clinical skill. Your therapist decides which of these techniques suits you and your injury after a proper assessment, and most plans draw on more than one.
Hands-on therapy
Physiotherapy
We combine an in-depth knowledge of the body with hands-on clinical skill to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms, so you restore, maximize and maintain movement.
Manual therapy
Skilled passive movement of joints and soft tissue to restore normal arthrokinematics, break up adhesions and reduce pain. Every therapist here is trained in it, and two hold advanced training in spinal and extremity manipulation.
Exercise therapy
Specific, planned and systematic exercise that corrects the muscle imbalances and mobility restrictions behind your injury. This is what makes physical therapy an active process.
Massage therapy
Our registered massage therapists work in craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue, Swedish, prenatal, trigger point, lymphatic drainage and reflexology.
Manual osteopathy
A hands-on method that looks at how the whole body functions rather than at parts and symptoms separately, using osteo-articular adjustment, fascial release, cranial-sacral technique and visceral manipulation.
Acupuncture
Fine needles at points along the body's meridians to encourage healing, reduce headaches and treat pain. Two of our therapists are trained in medical acupuncture.
Focused programs
Pelvic floor physiotherapy
For stress incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder retention, pregnancy and postpartum pain or weakness, pelvic floor pain, and post-surgical recovery. Programs can include back and hip work, relaxation technique, pelvic floor exercise and some yoga.
Vestibular therapy
Exercise-based rehabilitation for dizziness and balance, including repositioning maneuvers for BPPV, habituation exercise, gaze stability training and balance retraining.
Intramuscular stimulation
A dry needling technique that releases taut muscle tissue and trigger points, with nothing injected. Tim Cooney is trained in the Gunn IMS system and Ben Vuong in functional dry needling.

Ask the front deskWho we are
A team effort.
One of the big things that sets us apart is that we recognize physical therapy should be a team effort, and we cannot do it without you. Our goal is to treat the root cause of your issues in an inclusive environment, often extending beyond the body part of concern, using a collaborative approach between team members and the resources of the community around us. Each of you is an individual, and we will respect, care for and treat you as individuals.
Elizabeth Sutton
Owner and PhysiotherapistAt Peak since 1992. Certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy by the McKenzie Institute of Canada, and in spinal manipulation and medical acupuncture. What keeps her motivated is hearing thank you from happy clients, and helping injured workers back to their job, dancers back to rehearsals and judoka back to the tatami.
Tim Cooney
PhysiotherapistA fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists, certified in medical acupuncture and in Gunn IMS. He enjoys treating acute and chronic pain, likes to bring some humour into a treatment, and wants you to understand the nature of your injury.
The wider team
More hands on the floorAlongside the physiotherapists there are exercise therapists and kinesiologists, registered massage therapists, physical therapy assistants and a patient experience manager, so one plan can draw on more than one pair of hands.
